Writer Services
Writer Cleaning
The writer is disassembled and chemically cleaned in our specially designed power cleaner (a two-chemical process). The writer is then reassembled with all internal parts lubricated. All parts are inspected for general wear. Pads and springs are replaced. Electronic circuit boards are pneumatically cleaned, where applicable. The cassette drive head is cleaned and demagnetized, where applicable. The disk drive is cleaned, where applicable. The writer is then adjusted and tested to the manufacturer's specification, unless the customer specifies custom adjustment.
Ribbons and ribbon cartridge replacements are not included in this service. Replacement parts which are not included in the above description are an additional charge. Prices do not include shipping.

Writer Troubleshooting
If you are having a problem with your writer that the writer cleaning won't repair, our technicians can help. We can repair nearly all writers (even the old Baron and Xscribe).
24-Hour Turnaround
Writer cleanings and most repairs have just a 24-hour turnaround. There is no extra charge for this. Turnaround time does not include shipping time.

Need a quote before repair? Email the writer department for a quote. Note quotes may require you to first send in your writer if the problem is unknown.

Please note that from time to time we will discover a problem with your writer not related to the service being performed. If an issue is discovered, JM Steno will contact you for a resolution. Unless determined otherwise, JM Steno accepts no responsibility for any prior damages, either known or unknown to you.
