Computer Services
JM Steno provides computer sales & consultation services specializing in the legal industry. This includes hardware repairs, upgrades, installations, and diagnostics on notebooks and desktops. In addition, we provide software installation and support (specializing in CAT software). We also offer computer setup, even if the computer was not purchased through JM Steno.
Rate Info
Our hourly rate is $60. Time is billed in quarter hours. If you need a quote, please email the computer department. See below for additional service fees.

Services
Diagnostic Fee
Charge to diagnose a problem with your computer. This problem is waived if we repair it for you.
Rentals
Rent notebooks for $30 per day. Computers are subject to availability.
Physical Cleaning
Remove dust/debris from bays, keyboard keys, and components underneath keyboard including fans heat sinks. Use spray cleaner on stuck keyboard keys. Clean contact from flex cable connectors, battery bay, memory and memory modules. Clean LCD and outside case.
Backup Disc
Back up information from dead computers, working computers, and existing media. Save the backup to CD or DVD. $45 per disc.
Phone/Email/Remote/Depot Support
Phone support, email-based support, remote support (lets us control your computer to troubleshoot problems), and depot (in-store) support available for all problems not limited to virus/spyware removal, data recovery and transfer, troubleshooting and software repair, and DOS/Windows support. $60 per hour, billed quarterly.
Training
We offer training on just about any computer aspect, including Windows training, software training, backup training, realtime output training, etc. Email the computer department with any questions.
Basic Windows Reload
Format the hard drive (Cleans viruses/trojans/worms/spyware/adware/malware. Erases ALL files). Install a fresh copy of Windows/DOS. Install drivers. Update Windows. Does not include backups.
Full Windows Reload
Backup up to 5GB of data (additional data is extra). Format the hard drive. Install Windows/DOS. Install drivers. Install applications. Install external hardware. Update firmware, Windows, and applications. Restore backups. Test applications. Safe restore procedure available for $20, which allows us to restore your computer to the same conditions before you brought the computer in. We save the image for 30 days.
Schedule Service
Print and fill out a Computer Service Form and send it in with your computer. For questions, please email the computer department.
Turnaround Time
Full Windows reload takes approximately 24-48 hours. Most other services can be completed the same day. There is no additional charge for expedited services. Please email the computer department to schedule service.
Terms
Please note that from time to time we will discover a problem on your computer not related to the service being performed. If an issue is discovered, JM Steno will contact you for a resolution. Unless determined otherwise, JM Steno accepts no responsibility for any prior damages, either known or unknown to you. JM Steno provides backups as a convenience only. You are responsible for backing up your files. JM Steno accepts no responsibility for files/programs deleted as part of a service.
